Linnaean Street

One is an artist and one is a Harvard scholar. They called us when they couldn’t choose a color for the dining room walls (I’m pretty sure they were debating grasscloths at the time…) and were generally dissatisfied with the progress they were making on the renovation of their classic 1922 Harlow Hamilton condo unit in the Avon Hill area of Cambridge. The kitchen and bathroom also needed a good updating, but we were cautious not to move too far from the vibe of the original design. With a nod to the past but with an eye toward the future, we carefully chose materials, textures, and colors that assimilated themselves in to the bones of the existing space, but still felt clean and current. And p.s. – those caned, bentwood dining chairs around their table ARE comfortable (I have some).
